Premier League Honest chat turned season around
After an uncertain start to the season, Manchester City currently look very sure-footed as they march towards the Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola‘s side are currently leading the way in England with a comfortable ten-point distance between them and their nearest chasers, Manchester United and Leicester City.
Things weren’t looking so rosy back in November, when they sank as low as 13th in the table, but Manchester City are currently on a remarkable run of 17 consecutive wins, 10 of those in the Premier League, which is a record for any club.
Spanish midfielder Rodri has revealed that a team meeting was the catalyst to the change which got the Citizens‘ season on the right track.
“In the first period of the season, we weren’t playing well individually and collectively but this changed once we got together and spoke more about how we could work together,” said Rodri.
“We had a meeting and talked to each other. We analysed what was happening and how the team could do better.
“We all agreed that every player could do a little bit more for the team. I feel it’s the reason why we’re doing so well right now as there are lots of players who are currently playing at an incredible level.”
Whatever was said at that meeting, it seems to have worked a treat as right now it seems there is no stopping Manchester City.
Rodri and his teammates take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday at 17:30 CET.
